Makati and Bonifacio Global City (BGC) are the two main hubs for short-term rentals in Metro Manila. Both are safe, well-served, and full of condos. The right choice depends on your mix of work and leisure.
Makati: the established center
Makati has been the business and commercial heart of Manila for decades. The CBD is dense with offices, banks, and headquarters. Malls like Greenbelt and Glorietta, plus Ayala Triangle, give you dining, shopping, and green space without leaving the area. Public transport and ride-hailing connect you to the rest of the metro. Short-term rentals range from compact studios to larger units; many are in towers with pools and gyms. If your work or social life is centered in Makati, staying here keeps everything close.
BGC: planned and walkable
BGC was built as a modern district with a grid layout, wide sidewalks, and plenty of parks. It feels newer and less cramped than parts of Makati. You get offices, malls (e.g. High Street, Market! Market!), and a lot of cafés and restaurants in a more open setting. Traffic can still build up at peak times, but within BGC many errands and leisure spots are walkable. Rentals here appeal to visitors who like a cleaner, more “city district” vibe and don’t mind a short drive to Makati when needed.
Work
If most of your meetings or office days are in Makati, a rental in Makati is the most convenient. If you’re based in BGC or split between both, a BGC rental or one between the two can work well. Consider commute time and time of day you travel.
Play
Both areas have strong dining and nightlife. Makati offers Poblacion and the CBD mix; BGC offers High Street and a more spread-out, café-and-park style. Choose Makati for maximum variety in one place, BGC for a more relaxed, walkable environment.
